Louloudies Kitrous

At the location Louloudies Kitrous were found the ruins of a Bishop’s complex, of 5th – 6th c. AD, at the east of the new railway line Thessaloniki – Katerini. Today, visitors can tour the fortress with the three towers, the Bishop’s Hall, the mosaic floors of the villa of the 4th c., the graves, the wells, a ceramic furnace and the ovens of glass.

Recently, at Louloudies and Pydna several events take place. These are organized by the Olympus Festival in cooperationwith the 9th Ephorate of Byzantine Antiquities, the KZ΄ Ephorate of Classical Antiquities and the Archaeological Department of the Aristotle University on «Archaeological lectures in Northern Pieria».

Furthermore, events of the Olympus Festival selectively take place in some other special locations of Pieria, such as the Municipal Theatre Park of Katerini, the Municipal Theatre of Kolindros etc.
